Cambridge BID are committed to supporting our Independent businesses and as part of this, in addition to benefiting from all our other projects, we have allocated an additional £20,000 a year grant pot specifically to be used to deliver projects supporting Independents.
What is the Project
Cambridge BID has £20,000 a year allocated to supporting Independent businesses in the city. This is governed by an advisory group (made up of city centre Independents) which was set up in May 2018, key priorities to work on have been identified as branding training, marketing and events.
We worked with Cambridge Independent newspaper in the lead up to the launch event on the 7th March and they included a fantastic double page spread in the paper highlighting the work that we are doing to support the Independents in the city. The article can be found by clicking here.
Love Cambridge Independents Launch Event
On Thursday 7th February we launched the Love Cambridge Independents brand and delivered social media training to around 30 independent businesses in the city centre.

We encourage you to support each other online. Following, liking and engaging with other independent businesses in Cambridge goes a long way. It only takes a second to like or retweet a small business's tweets but it can help them to increase their audience and grow their business,
To make this culture of collaboration easier, we have put together a spreadsheet that has all website, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram links for over 250 businesses in Cambridge.
