October 2020 Newsletter

All sectors of our own city have felt the unwelcome impact of Covid-19. Cambridge is well placed to make a strong comeback, and here at Cambridge BID we are well positioned to aid that recovery. Our October newsletter covers the additional support Cambridge BID have been providing businesses since March 2020 and what is to come over the next 6 months.

As always, if you want to discuss any of the initiatives or projects in the newsletter, then don't hesitate to get in touch with us at info@cambridgebid.co.uk

Cambridge Business Improvement District: Explore, Cherish, Stay - Annual Report 2018-2019

Cambridge Business Improvement District (BID) is a collaboration of 1,200 businesses, working together to create a world-class experience for all who visit, live and work in Cambridge, a global city.

Launched in April 2013, the organisation received a mandate in November 2017 to continue its work for a second five-year term, following a Renewal Ballot in which 80 per cent of voters gave their backing to the Business Plan for 2018-2023. In the process, the BID Area was extended to incorporate the CB1 area and Station Square; the threshold above which businesses pay a levy was also increased from £20,000 to £30,000.

During this second term, almost £5 million of private sector funding will be invested in the city through Cambridge BID. This will be used to underpin existing projects - delivered under the Welcome, Experience and Support work streams - and enable new initiatives that will attract new talent and business, while raising the city's profile still further on the global stage.

Love Cambridge Independents Map

The map is designed to demonstrate the breath of over 250 independents that we have in city and show where they are all located. The distribution of these have included direct letter box delivery to 18,000 houses in villages surrounding the city and also available through our City Ambassadors, Independent businesses themselves and also hotels and other high footfall locations.

Love Summer magazine - your guide to Cambridge this summer

Our new Love Summer Magazine is now replacing our old guides (Shopping, Day & Night, Markets and Transport) that you may have seen around the city over the past few years. The magazine is designed to showcase all that Cambridge has to offer including Shopping, The Arts, Parks & Open Spaces and the huge cultural offer. The magazine will last 6 months, with a Love Winter due out in October.

April 2019 Newsletter

It has been a very successful first year of our second term at Cambridge BID. We thought it would be useful to put together a new newsletter to update you all on what has been achieved in this time, what our plans are going forward and how they benefit Cambridge and your business.

We will be distributing a printed copy of the newsletter to your business over the next few weeks. In the meantime, please click on the link below to read and download an online version.
