Cambridge BID Launches £150k Business Support Grant.

Cambridge BID are pleased to launch our Business Support Grant for 2021-22 , grants of upto £4,000 are available to our levy payers to improve their business as the city reopens.

Ian Sandison CEO commented: “The past 12 months have been very tough for businesses and as the city reopens this grant scheme will enable businesses to improve their customer offer, we look forward to receiving many applications”

Overview of the grant

Cambridge BID levy payers showed great support for Cambridge BID during the last very difficult 12 months by paying 90% of their levy in 2020-21.

The various restrictions meant we could not deliver a full range of projects during this period, so in response to this, the Cambridge BID board agreed at our January 2021 Board meeting to use some of this underspend to create this grant scheme to support our levy payers.

The grant scheme will be launched on May 19th 2021 allowing many businesses to be active in line with the Government roadmap and access the grant.

Purpose of the grant

The grant is broadly for customer facing business support. The principle being if a business improves their premises, product offer, or online presence then this is beneficial for them but also for Cambridge as a city and the customer who uses the city.
