Our Mystery Shop project provides businesses with feedback to understand how they are viewed by their customers. We then celebrate excellence in terms of customer service via the Cambridge BID Awards.

What is the project:

The Mystery Shop Project is delivered in stages, as follows:.

Stage 1 - Customer Satisfaction Survey. During May, June and July customers visiting participating businesses are invited to complete a quick survey via a QR code. Survey responses are collated and a feedback report produced for each participating business.

Stage 2 - Independent Mystery Shop. Shortlisted businesses from the Customer Satisfaction Survey will then receive an individual Mystery Shop visit by independent company Storecheckers. Participating Businesses will receive a copy of their independent Mystery Shop Report.

Stage 3 - Cambridge BID Awards. The Cambridge BID Awards are presented to those businesses that achieve the highest scores in their Mystery Shop visits and winners are awarded in each of the categories listed below.

How to get involved?

This is an ongoing project and businesses within the BID area can register to participate using the sign up link to your left. We are looking for participating businesses in the following categories:

  • Late Night Venue (bars, pubs and clubs)

  • Restaurant

  • Café

  • Independent Business

  • National Business

  • Professional Business

  • Leisure / Tourism

  • Overnight Accommodation

  • Market or Street Trader
