This report provides a focused overview of Love Cambridge Gift Card performance during the festive season, with particular emphasis on corporate gifting activity. Using existing sales data, it highlights how Gift Cards have been used by businesses and consumers at this key trading period, identifying key trends and patterns in purchasing behaviour.
The focus is on drawing out clear and useful insights from the data, using straightforward comparisons to highlight what is working well and where there may be opportunities to build on performance.
Gift Card sales are often the highest during the festive period, largely due to the number of corporate orders that come through that are used for end of year staff gifting.
2025 November/December saw a £2,852 decrease in sales in comparison to 2024 November/December sales. Overall, sales were still at an all-time high hitting a result of £44,928 for the end of the year.
15 corporate orders were placed in 2025 during the festive period. When comparing this to 2024 corporate orders, 8 were placed and 3 of these were repeated orders in 2025. These sales usually begin to come through at the end of November through to mid December. Any orders that are over a value of £1000 then go on to receive 5% (10% if repeat orders) worth of Gift Card cash back cards that businesses can use to treat their staff in the new year.
Christmas orders account for a significant proportion of annual Love Cambridge Gift Card sales, with the festive period consistently delivering the highest transaction volumes of the year. Historically, demand peaks between November and December as businesses place corporate orders for employee rewards and client gifting, while consumer purchases increase in line with seasonal retail spending trends. This increase in Christmas sales not only brings in a large share of yearly revenue over a short period but also continues to benefit local businesses after the festive season. Many Gift Cards bought at Christmas are redeemed in the months that follow, helping to drive spending during the quieter start to the year. As a result, strong Christmas sales are a key factor in overall annual gift card performance and ongoing support for the local economy.
