Cambridge Arts Festival 2026 - 9–18 February 2026

We’re thrilled to announce the return of the Cambridge Arts Festivalfor its 3rd year! Delivered by Cambridge BID, the festival will once again shine a spotlight on the extraordinary creativity and talent that make our city so special.

This year’s programme promises something for everyone — from exhibitions and workshops to hands-on activities and family-friendly fun, in venues across the city. Staying true to our ethos, most of the programme will be free to attend, making art accessible for all.

The event, held in the Cambridge Union Society, was designed to celebrate the very best customer service in the city. It was attended by representatives of businesses that participated in Cambridge BID’s 2021 Mystery Shop programme - including eateries, attractions, accommodation providers and retailers.

Weekly footfall in Cambridge was up 5% last week, that was on top of a 20% weekly rise the week before. This is above the national data for high streets and compared to 2019 last week Cambridge was only 10% down whereas nationally high streets were -20%.

The results of the Regional Mayor’s recent traffic survey are not surprising, those outside of Cambridge want more buses and greater frequency, city residents want less congestion. I’m not sure why the results are split, we need just the one solution.

Cambridge saw a 12% drop in weekly footfall last week and is suddenly much quieter than we would usually expect at this time of year. As I speak to many hospitality businesses they are seeing a high number of cancellations of dinners, parties and overnight stays.
