Cambridge is getting ready to welcome the festive season this November, with two Christmas light switch-on events set to bring the city to life and mark the official countdown to Christmas. The two events will kick-start the festive season in Cambridge, bringing together residents, visitors, businesses and communities for a celebration of everything the city has to offer at Christmas.

·      Station Square – Thursday 12 November, 4.30pm – 7.00pm (‘switch-on’ moment at 6.30pm)

Step into Christmas as we turn on the lights at Cambridge train station. Delivered by Cambridge BID and hosted by Josh Lovatt, this is a perfect event for all the community. Expect festive-themed quizzes, prize giveaways, and a performance from the wonderful The Los Amigos (local Cambridge band, playing a mix of original music, upbeat covers and Christmas music). The ‘switch on’ moment is 6pm and then you can take photos with our illuminated Christmas bauble and enjoy a walkabout from Ruby Flames award-winning live event entertainment and circus performance company. In busy and bustling Station Road, this event creates a warm Christmas welcome for commuters, residents, workers and visitors arriving in the city.
