It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas and Cambridge’s fantastic array of independent shops, boutiques, restaurants and cafés are getting into the festive spirit with their shop windows. Twinkling lights, sparkling baubles and snowy scenes have all appeared in windows around the city to entice shoppers in from the cold and rain.
Each year, Christmas BID encourages independent retails to join in the Christmas window competition, and it is being supported once again by the Cambridge Independent.
Businesses will be judges on the originality, visual impact and festivity of their display. The judges have decided on a shortlist of eight businesses, out of 50 entrants, which will be put to the vote on Love Cambridge Facebook page from Wednesday 11th December to Wednesday 18th December at midday in order to decide the winner. The shortlist is:
Lilac Rose, Bridge St
Bridges, Bridge St
Boudoir Femme, King St
Podarock, Bene't St
The Flower Shop, Magdalene St
Cambridge Framing Centre, Sussex St
Pure Source, Bridge Street
Bread and Meat, Bene't St
The winning businesses will receive additional coverage in the Cambridge Independent on Tuesday 24th, along with a cheque for £150 for a charity of their choice.
