A new creative project is taking shape in the heart of Cambridge, inviting local artists to help reimagine one of the city’s most characterful streets.
Cambridge BID is commissioning a new mural for King Street – a street known for its mix of independents, eateries and hidden gems. Led by street art collective Graffwerk and with the permission of Sidney Sussex College to use their wall, this piece will form part of the Cambridge Arts Festival 2026, bringing a touch of colour and storytelling to the area.
Rather than a single artist’s vision, the project aims to celebrate collaboration and community. Cambridge-based artists are invited to express their interest in joining a design workshop with Graffwerk – the team behind the UK’s largest street art festival, Bring The Paint. No prior street art or mural experience is needed; the focus is on creativity, connection, and ideas that capture what makes Cambridge distinctive.
