Cambridge BID has launched the Cambridge Student Handbook 2026/27, designed to welcome students to the city and help them discover everything Cambridge has to offer.
As part of our student welcome activity, 1,000 copies have already been handed out at the Anglia Ruskin University and University of Cambridge Freshers’ Fairs, alongside our Purple Flag goodie bags containing useful safety information and resources.
Additional copies have also been distributed to student halls and accommodation across Cambridge, extending the reach of the campaign beyond Freshers’ Week.
The handbook encourages students to explore and support the city centre, showcasing places to eat, drink, shop and visit, alongside events, local businesses and useful information for enjoying Cambridge safely.
It also highlights Cambridge’s Purple Flag work, including information on getting home safely, support available at night and the partnerships working to create a welcoming evening and night-time economy.
The handbook forms part of Cambridge BID’s wider work to connect the city’s student population with local businesses and encourage students to make the most of Cambridge throughout the year.
Thank you to our Purple Flag Partners CAMBAC, Cambridge City Council and Cambridgeshire Constabulary
Additional thank you for the partner funding from Cambridge City Council around all student engagement work that we are completing.
