Outdoor Films

Over the last few years we have taken our big screen to Market Square and to the CB1 estate, close to the train station for free outdoor evening films during the Summer Months. Changes are coming in 2026 with 4 full days of free outdoor films planned across two locations from Thursday 13th August - Sunday 16th August.

What is the project?

Now in their 8th year, our beloved summer free outdoor Films aim to increase dwell time in Cambridge and encourage visitors to visit BID businesses before or after watching a film. Our family-friendly films bring communities together, creating a lively atmosphere that boosts foot traffic and local engagement. As we head into our 8th year, we are delivering a 4-day event across two city center locations with 4 films per day available to watch.

Who does it benefit?

Film Nights drives footfall, attracting hundreds of visitors who might not otherwise be in the area. This increased activity supports local businesses, enhances visibility, and contributes to a thriving local economy.

Project Status

In 2026 we are extremely excited to bring 4 days of free outdoor films to the city, between 13th - 16th August. These will be held in CB1 next to the Clayton Hotel on the 13th and 14th and then at the Downing Site opposite Hilton Cambridge City Centre for the 15th and 16th August.
