Top Trumps Cambridge v Oxford will be launching this autumn, bringing the iconic Top Trumps game to the city.
Top Trumps is a much-loved British heritage brand that has been entertaining families for over 50 years. First launched in the 1970s, the game is simple to learn and easy to play. Each card features a character, place or subject with a range of different stats, with players choosing the category they think will beat their opponent.
Over the years, Top Trumps has featured everything from football and animals to famous landmarks, films, cars and much more.

An Opportunity For Cambridge Businesses
Businesses in Cambridge have the opportunity to be featured on a Top Trumps card.
Businesses selected to take part will receive their cards free of charge, with the expectation that they will actively distribute them to customers.
This is a great opportunity to showcase your business, attract visitors and be part of the wider launch campaign.
What Could Your Involvement Look Like?
Scudamore’s is a great example of how a business can get involved. They will:
Hand their Top Trumps cards out to customers who use their punting boats
Display giant Top Trumps cards at their kiosks
Promote their involvement across social media
Have banners produced for their railings
Sell the full Top Trumps pack at their kiosks
What Businesses Need To Provide:
If you would like to be considered for a card, please provide:
Company name
Photo you would like to use
Short biography – approximately 70 words
Age in years and Distance from The Guildhall in metres
How you plan to distribute the cards to customers
Business Requirements
Businesses should:
Be able to distribute the cards easily, for example with a purchase or from a counter/display area
Commit to actively handing the cards out to customers
How Many Cards Will You Receive?
Businesses will initially receive 500 cards free of charge.
If the campaign performs well and you would like additional cards, further quantities can be printed and supplied.
Marketing Opportunities
Top Trumps is also looking at a range of ways to promote the participating businesses and encourage people to collect the cards, including:
PR activity highlighting where cards can be collected, including radio and newspaper coverage
Social media promotion through Top Trumps and participating Cambridge businesses
A printed map highlighting where people can collect cards across Cambridge
Giant Top Trumps cards, from A3 to A0
Banners and window vinyls for participating businesses
Launch Week
The launch is planned for w/c 26 October 2026.
Launch events are currently being developed, with businesses encouraged to get involved and share their ideas.

This will allow enough time for the Top Trumps team to review and approve the participating businesses and prepare the cards ahead of the launch.
