The Purple Flag standard, launched in 2012, is an accreditation process similar to the Green Flag award for parks and the Blue Flag for beaches. It allows members of the public to quickly identify town & city centres that offer an entertaining, diverse, safe and enjoyable night out.

What is the Project?

The Purple Flag standard, launched in 2012, is an accreditation process similar to the Green Flag award for parks and the Blue Flag for beaches. It allows members of the public to quickly identify town and city centres that offer an entertaining, diverse, safe and enjoyable night out.

Who does it benefit?

Purple Flag accreditation benefits the night-time economy and all that use it. To gain Purple Flag accreditation we will need to demonstrate a coordinated multi-agency response to ensuring Cambridge remains a great place to have a safe night out.

Project Status

Application for Purple Flag Status is currently being prepared for a Summer 2019 submission.
